The Nitty Gritty

• We are able to cater for all events big or small.  That’s not an exaggeration - birthday parties, weddings, corporate functions, Christmas parties, festivals, even a day at the races! ​

• We play a vast range of popular music and can easily play up to 4 hours including background music. 

​​

• We are a 6 piece band ensuring a full, energetic performance.  We can also expand to a full scale show band with bigger brass, more vocals and even percussion.

​​

• We can supply our own lighting and sound system for events with up to 200 people.  For larger events we have industry partners who we work with on a regular basis so can join the dots for all of your production needs.  ​ 

​

• We use in-ear-monitors whenever possible to aid us in achieving the best sound at all times. This not only means that we sound better, but also have control over a wide dynamic range, ensuring your event is a success, no matter how loud or quiet you need us to be.

The Line Up

Individually our members work and have worked with a who’s who of the New Zealand Music Industry, and have been found on stage with the likes of Shapeshifter, Trinity Roots, Kora, The Pink Floyd Experience, Rob Ruha, The Black Seeds, Hollie Smith, Aaradhna, Iva Lamkum, The RNZAF Band,  Rodger Fox and so on; the list goes on and keeps getting longer every year. 

 

We are powered by top quality, professional musicians with an absolute wealth of experience to draw on.

The History

​

Electric Avenue The Band has been an active covers band for over 15 years.

The band started in 2005 under the name "Soul Estate" filling a residency at Wellington’s Shed 5 Restaurant.

​

After performing hundreds of successful gigs and a few line up changes, the band decided to take a small break to reinvent itself.

We wanted to forge a new path and expand our repertoire beyond soul music. This new direction has allowed us to become more current and diversify our repertoire significantly. 

​

Now lead by husband and wife team Andre (sax) and Stephanie Paris (vocals), Electric Avenue is a premier dance band whose primary focus is quality.

​​

We pride ourselves on being able to choose the right songs for any audience and deliver them in a high energy package that not only looks great, but sounds great too.
